Aspiring Ellenbrook students to learn from the best

Ellenbrook Christian College students are to benefit from a special basketball clinic with two players from the Perth Wildcats basketball team.

On Wednesday 15 September from 2pm to 3pm Drew Williamson and Stephen Weigh will visit the Ellenbrook students to focus on skills development and share their secrets for success.

The clinic is being offered by WA property group Hawaiian as part of the Hawaiian Alive program.

Teacher Daniel Griffiths said the school was grateful to Hawaiian for offering the clinics.

“The students in our school basketball teams are very excited about the opportunity to meet and learn from these elite players,” he said.

The students will have the chance to ask Drew and Stephen about their experiences as part of this year’s National Basketball League premiership team.

They will also take part in skills based activities such as effective passing and defending and a question and answer session.

Hawaiian chief executive officer Russell Gibbs said Hawaiian Alive was an opportunity for the property group to give to the community.

“We are aware that schools often have limited resources, so Hawaiian Alive offers students a range of enriching excursions and activities,” Mr Gibbs said.

“At Hawaiian, we value the opportunity to give to the communities we live and work in, and this program is a great way to do that do this by enhancing the school experience for our young people.”
