Award-winning photographer captures students’ interest
Students from Balcatta Senior High School had the unique opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s leading photographers during a special Celebrate WA photography workshop on Monday 6 April.
Held at the school, the 90-minute workshop saw 2008 Australian Landscape Photographer of the Year Nick Melidonis, taking the students through an interactive workshop covering the basics of good composition, along with tips on how to make the most of natural light.
Balcatta Senior High Photography Teacher, Sherree Tomlinson, is thrilled with the opportunity the program provides her students.
“Photography is a very popular subject here at Balcatta Senior High School, and several of our year 11 and 12 students are considering a career in photography, so they were particularly excited about this workshop opportunity,” said Ms Tomlinson.
