Students take time out with Perth Wildcats

Students from Majella Catholic Primary School in Balga were shooting hoops with the best of them when Perth Wildcats players Tom Garlepp and Jeff Dowdell visited the school on Friday 1 May.

On the day, the students participated in group activities and drill sessions followed by an informative talk from the two players on how a healthy lifestyle plays an important part in being a Wildcats player.

The players were promoting the club’s ‘2&5 Engage Program’, which encourages kids to get healthy by eating two servings of fruit and five servings of vegetables each day in combination with regular physical activity.

Majella Catholic Primary School’s Assistant Principal, Helen Brown, is thrilled with the benefits the Hawaiian Alive program provides to her students.

“This visit from the Wildcats players was a wonderful opportunity for our year seven students to identify with strong role models who are determined and passionate in achieving their goals,” she says.

Ashfield Primary School and St Hilda's Anglican School will also soon receive visits from the Perth Wildcats.
